I’ve noticed a pattern in people using a single letters (Example: “B”) to represent their names on email signatures.
I’d like to take FULL credit for this phenomenon. You see, over the past few years I’ve been able to slowly mold family, friends and clients into using this way of ending emails. Here is my tactic…
First few times I always ended my email with something along the lines of…
“Kind Regards” or “Thanks”,
Brad Marshall
I slowly evolved that to…
Thanks,
Brad
Then, without any warning, I show my typing laziness…
Thanks,
B
Funny thing is I think people subconsciously prefer doing the same. I see a pattern of co-progression (or regression depending on how you look at it) occurring at the same rate.
Let’s face it, even with an automated email signature, looking at a name fully typed out – “Brad Marshall” – gets tiring. Just look at all those letters… People know my name!
Why spell it out all the time!?
That’s my ramble.
Cheers,
B

Yeah … You’d like to take full credit … you can have credit for the phenomenon, but all should know that I invented it
It is true though, you can’t just straight hit somebody with a single letter unless you’ve established yourself as an important person first.
