This year we decided to let everyone have a laugh at our expense in support of some great local organizations. The concept is in fact quite simple. Our Flash-based microsite ‘12ChristmasSweaters.com‘ is a simple contest based website where visitors can vote for either an ugly sweater (modeled by the lovely Artistech team), OR their favourite not-for-profit group. The organization with the most votes by December 31st wins a $1000 donation from Artistech! And with all the recent government funding cuts – who couldn’t use a little extra help this time of year.
The online campaign was launched Friday, December 11th and was promoted using social networks like Facebook and Twitter, email marketing and good ol’ fashion word-of-mouth. During the first few hours of the online campaign, the site received more than 700 visits with hundreds of votes cast.
